I just finished reading Divine Appointments by Charlene Ann Baumbich & I enjoyed it. I'm not going to say I loved it, but it was good. I just couldn't "connect" to the book. Try as I might I just could not get into it. BUT it was very well written and very entertaining. It made me laugh & cry.
"Divine Appointments" revolves around Josie Brooks & people at Diamond Mutual. It starts with Josie being hired to let the bosses know who she feels won't be good for the company after the change. There's a subtle love brewing between her and Lyle, one of the men she reported to. She's a strong independent woman who has no time for the pleasures in life. Or so she thought, she starts a friendship with her Realtor & finally realizes that she does indeed need people. The secondary characters are probably my favorite, Barb & Marsha, and Frank. Marsha is a divorced lady who is resentful of her ex. Barb suggests to her that she express her feelings as does her doctor. What she does is marvelous. A book in work, which you get to read through out the book & a journal. In the end she admits that she needs to forgive. I would definitely recommend this book to a friend. In fact I think my mom would actually like it. :)
[[Disclaimer: I received this book free from Blogging for Books.. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed here are my own.]]
