Indelible - Kristen Heitzmann - 5/5 Stars!

This is the second book by Kristen Heitzmann I've read, the first was Indivisible. That was an amazing book so I had high hopes for this one. It didn't let me down. This book takes you back to Redford, Colorado, a intense tale of Trevor MacDaniel & Natalie Reeve. When a mountain lion attack on her nephew pushes them together, Trevor & Natalie must prove how strong they are. Trevor is an Ex-Gold Medalist Skier who has become a Search & Rescue Member. Natalie is a sculptor. She has eidetic memory, she withholds strong emotions on peoples faces. The only way for her to get rid of them is to sculpt them. She sculpts people from the rescuing of her nephew, her gallery opening. Trevor, Natalie & the whole town are about to get a very nasty visitor. A man who is just a little boy inside, lost. He sees Trevor as his adversary. He puts children in horrifying situations then photographs them and sends the pictures to Trevor. Everyone is pushed to their limits to try to find this sicko before someone is killed. Who is targeting the kids? Why is he targeting Trevor, a ex-gold medalist. Will everyone make it through? There are many amazing characters in this book. I urge everyone to get this book and get to know them. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Judgement Day - Wanda L. Dyson = 5 stars!

Chapter 1 - Link

This book at first was a little hard to get into. I had to read a few chapters then it was a great book. It took me so long to finish it and post this review because every time I sat down to read it something came up and I had to put it down. I am immensely happy I finally finished it!

Suzanne Kidwell runs a television show called Judgement day, she investigates people who she thinks to be doing illegal activities. But a lot of the time she doesn't get all the facts and accuses the wrong person, as is the case with the principle. She is working on a huge case that would upset and ruin many lives. When her boyfriend is killed in her car her world comes crashing down and it's a race to prove she had nothing to do with the bomb on her car.

There are a ton of different characters in this book, there are the runaway teens, the going crazy father in law, the daughter who doesn't want to run the family business, the jilted ex who becomes friends with Suzanne, the guilt tripping parents. This book is a real page turner and I suggest it to anyone who enjoys a mystery.

5/5 Stars!

Unsinkable - Abby Sunderland & Lynn Vincent

Unsinkable: A Young Woman's Courageous Battle on the High Seas
By: Abby Sunderland & Lynn Vincent

 [[Originally posted April 27th 2011]]
I've recently read Abby's book, Unsinkable. To be honest I was one of the people who thought she made a mistake attempting the cruise. After reading her book and hearing her side of everything, I was so wrong. She was ready, more than ready. I hope she tries again sometime in the future, I will be paying close attention if she does. Good Luck Abby!!

This book describes what she went through, not only with the sailing but with people. How people treated her when they found out what she was doing. Thankfully for her she had a tight knit family and team of experts. In Unsinkable you follow Abby as she gets ready for the voyage and as she's out sailing. It's like you're there when you're reading her accounts of everything. You get to be with her as she cleans the sea life off her decks in the mornings, when she sails into port at Cape Town, when she's in trouble, when she's having fun. I would recommend this book to people who love a good read or kids who need to know that you can make your dreams come true.

Breath of Angel - Karyn Henley = AWESOMENESS!!!

[[Originally posted April 4th 2011]]
The first book I ever read by Karyn Henley was Breath of Angel. I was definitely not disappointed. I’m looking forward to the next books in The Angeleon Circle. The characters, layout & details was so entertaining that I couldn’t put the book down. I started it Wednesday and finished it Friday afternoon. This was the first book in the Angeleon Circle, the next is available in 2012. I will definitely be getting it.

This book follows Melaia as she travels and fights to restore The Wisdom Tree, the stairway to Heaven for Angels & spirits. You'll meet many characters that you will fall in love with. Melaia is on a quest, to find out who she is & help the angels with restoring the tree and bringing the harps together.

I recommended this book to people who like fantasy books. It has a touch of romance, really not even enough to mention. There's angels, shapeshifters, "talking" trees, enchanted harps and so much more. I rate this book a solid 5 out of 5 stars.

Curiosities of the Civil War - Webb Garrison

[[Originally posted March 20th 2011]]
I thought I was going to like this book. I thought wrong. While it was very entertaining it wasn't my kinda book. My husband & mom liked it more than me.

When I ordered this book I thought each "curiosity" would be a chapter. Instead they were shorter, probably a paragraph or 2 on average. There are 9 parts to this book to fill Civil War buffs up on interesting and quirky information.

For example did you know
On the second day Gettysburg, Union Major General Daniel E. Sickles took a direct hit from a Confederate shell. Within thirty minutes a surgeon had finished amputating his mangled leg.

Sickles loudly demanded that it be preserved in alcohol, but he soon be became tired of it and donated it to the U.S. Army Medical Museum. Tradition says he visited his leg several times during the postwar years but never remained with it morn that a few minutes.

I recommend this book to people who are interested in learning more of the stranger, unusual, not so talked about aspects of the Civil War.

Indivisible - Kristen Heitzmann - LOVED this book!

[[Originally posted March 3rd 2011]]
Read Chapter 1: HERE
This was the first book by Kristen Heitzmann that I've ever read. After reading this book I can honestly say it won't be my last. It was truly a good read.

Indivisible is about a small town police chief, Jonah Westfall, trying to solve a gruesome string of events while in the process of trying to heal his heart. But there is something in his way of healing. Tia Manning & Liz Rainer. Tia is a childhood friend and long time love. Liz is the new vet who has taken an interest in the chief. There are many main characters that make this book a very good read. So many things going on in the book but it all comes back to Jonah Westfall & Tia Manning. They are terribly in love but both are too stubborn and hurt to do anything about it at first. I would definitely recommend this book to others. I give this book a 4.5 out of 5.

Flight of Shadows - Sigmund Brouwer = Fantastic Book!

[[Originally posted February 14th 2011]]
This is the first Sigmund Brouwer book I've read. I was definitely not disappointed. It was absolutely fantastic. It took me a little longer to read mainly because I didn't want to finish it too quick. lol I wanted to savor it.

One of the main characters Caitlyn Brown, is the most wanted woman alive. Her DNA has the power to possibly save the lives of millions, if not billions of people. But she doesn't know this, she only knows that people are after her and she is extraordinarily different from everyone else, in her eyes a freak. After a chapter or 2 you meet Razor. He is an interesting character to say the least. Fast. Sharp. Dangerous. If he so chooses. There are 3 other main characters that you meet in this book. Billy & Theo, 2 of Caitlyns' friends from Appalachia & Carson Pierce a type of government agent. In the beginning Pierce is after Caitlyn,  dead or alive. Doesn't matter as long as her blood gets back to the people in charge. Razor is a type of unwanted/unwilling hero. This book has a few nice surprises in store for anyone reading it. I know the ending came as a complete shocker to me. :) I definitely recommend this book to anyone and everyone who likes futuristic type books and just a plain all around good read.
